Diagonal Manicure: Rose Gold & Sage

Hey there!  I just did this manicure last night and I love it so much I had to share it!  You'll have to excuse my messy cuticles in the picture - I had literally just finished applying the top coat and we were running late to see a movie with a friend so I didn't have time to clean up around the edges.  But you still get the idea.

I used regular transparent tape to make the diagonal design.  Paint one color first (it doesn't really matter which one), then when it's completely dry place the tape across the nail and use a cuticle stick to smooth the edge where the colors will meet.  Paint your second color and peel the tape off before it dries.  Voila!

L: Rage by Orly, R: Caught With My Khakis Down by Sephora by O.P.I. (from the Safari Luxe set or minis)

I also used the Quick Dry Base Coat and Quick Dry Top Coat by Revlon to help prevent it from chipping.  And there you have it.  A simple and easy yet different and interesting manicure that can be recreated with a virtually infinite number of combinations of colors!

Much love,
Sara

Makeup and Jewelry Haul

Howdy y'all!

The other day one of my best friends and I went on a little shopping spree around downtown Seattle.  I picked up some fun things from Sephora, finally got my hands on a wrap watch from Target that I had been lusting after for a while, and stumbled upon a jewelry sale at Old Navy!  Here are some of the things I got...

Sephora:
The Naked Nail Polish Set by Urban Decay
L-R: Naked, Sidecar, Toasted, Smog, Hustle, Creep

2 out of 3 of the "World Famous Neutrals" Eyeshadow Kits by Benefit
L: Sexiest Nudes Ever, R: Most Glamorous Nudes Ever
Each kit comes with 2 creaseless cream shadows and 4 longwear powder shadows.

Swatches of Sexiest Nudes Ever
L-R: bikini-tini; holy smokes!; milk it!; pause for applause; raincheck?; blingo!

Swatches of Most Glamorous Nudes Ever
L-R: birthday suit; my two cents; call my bluff; it's complicated; kiss me, i'm tipsy; gilt-y pleasure

Target:
I originally spotted this watch at the Target in Bellingham and almost bought it right then and there but decided the price was a little too steep.  Then, of course, I couldn't stop thinking about it and decided that I needed it.  I checked the Targets in Redmond and Issaquah and they both didn't have it in stock so I figured I could just get it online.  Found it online only to discover that it's only sold in stores!  Needless to say, I was pretty stoked when I checked the downtown Seattle Target just because we happened to be in the area and sure enough they had one left!
As an added bonus, it goes really nicely with one of my favorite braided bracelets that I've been wearing pretty much every single day lately.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the yellow gold.  I wish it were either all rose gold, or rose gold with silver.  Other than that, I'm in love!

Old Navy:

I may or may not have an obsession with all things braided...

Anywho, there's my haul.  I also got some clothes from Target and Forever 21, but I really don't feel like having to take pictures of myself modeling them right now, so this will have to do :).  Hope you enjoy and happy shopping!

xoxo,
Sara

Happy New Year!

Hey there!  So it's a brand new year and my resolution is to start posting regularly on this blog that I actually created years ago but never ended up using.  For my very first blog post ever, I figured what better to start with than my New Year's Eve makeup look!  So without further ado, here is what I wore last night...

Face:
Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream
BareMinerals Ready Foundation in Medium C25
Benefit Perk Up Artist Custom Complexion Correctors ("cover" & "brighten" colors mixed together on the under-eye area)
Benefit First-Class Face Powder (blush from the "she's so jetset" palette)
Lancome Blush Highlighter Illuminating Powder 001
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder in Milk Chocolate

Eyes:
Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten (all over base)
Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten (inner corner/tear duct area, browbone highlight, and inner half of lower lash line)
Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow in Tickled Mink (inner half of lid)
Lancome Color Design Infinite Eye Shadow in 102 Timeless Taupe (outer half of lid and lower lashline)
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Strut (outer v/crease)
Benefit BadGal Liner Waterproof in Extra Black (smudged into upper lashline and applied to waterline)
Buxom Lashliner in Leatherette (to create a small wing)
Stila Smudge Crayon in Kitten (waterline - layered on top of the black)
Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara in 01 Extreme Black (upper and lower lashes)
Buxom Sparkling Lash Mascara in 24K (upper and lower lashes)

Lips:
Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in 13 Mighty Mimosa
Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola

By the way, these are the shoes that I wore!  Pretty fabulous, but after only a couple of hours they get to be nearly impossible to bear.  Luckily I was celebrating the new year at a friend's carpeted apartment where it wasn't a problem for me to kick them off.  I paired them with a plain cotton little black dress and black tights.  I'm usually not much of a bling bling type of girl, but I feel like New Year's Eve requires a bit of sparkle.  They were only about 20 bucks from Charlotte Russe maybe a year ago.

And there you have it!  Hope you enjoy and have a happy 2013!
Lots of love,
Sara
